due to the COVID-19 situation, there will be no written online admission test this period. This means for our applicants that they only have to take part in the admission interview. Termins will be arranged by our colleagues regarded the time zones of the applicants countries.
To preserve the health and safety of university citizens and to ensure the effectiveness of measures, the followings are ordered
Provisions concerning students
The Hungarian Government has declared a state of emergency across the country due to the coronavirus epidemic. In line with this, it has also introduced measures affecting higher educational institutions. In the current situation, the Rector of the University of Sopron has ordered an extraordinary education break for both full-time and part-time students, on 12-13-14 March 2020 days. (Rector's Instruction No. 1/2020).
He also ordered that the spring holiday has to be taken at an earlier date, from March 16 to 21 2020, and thereafter from 23th March 2020, education would be provided in the form of distance learning until further measures. During distance education, students may not visit higher education institutions.
Students are reminded not to travel abroad during the period of the measure, stay in your residence if possible.
Foreign students are reminded that if they travel home or abroad during the term of the measure, there is a risk that they will not be able to return.
According to the above, from 12th March 2020 it is prohibited to visit the institutions, so students are not allowed to enter the buildings of University of Sopron until further notice.
Provisions concerning dormitory students
The Hungarian Government has declared a state of emergency across the country due to the coronavirus epidemic. In line with this, it has also introduced measures affecting higher educational institutions.
Hungarian citizens or students with permanent residency in Hungary are required to move out of any university-maintained dormitory immediately, but no later than 4 PM on Friday, 13th March 2020.
According to the individual assessment, Hungarian students may remain in dormitory with the Rector’s permission, if their social situation justifies this. The fairness claim must be submitted until 12th March 2020 and will be judged on Friday.
Foreign students are still allowed to stay in dormitories.
This measure is valid until cancellation.
