International Students Enjoy a Unique Recreational Event Organized by Lamfalussy Faculty Student

On October 22, 2025, the Alexandre Lámfalussy Faculty of Economics, in collaboration with the International Office of the university, hosted a vibrant “Meet and Game” evening for students of the University of Sopron. Caleb Omabuwa, a student at the Alexandre Lamfalussy Faculty, took charge of organizing the event.The recreational event, held at the VUK Dormitory, aimed to promote inclusion, foster intellectual engagement, and strengthen bonds among students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

The successful gathering brought together more than 30 students representing different faculties, programs, and languages of study. Participants connected and interacted through a range of critical thinking games, E-games, and leisure activities designed to stimulate the mind while ensuring plenty of fun.
The university provided a variety of games and snacks to create a relaxed and engaging evening. Two friendly tournaments added a competitive spark to the evening; a ♟️Chess Tournament and a ⚽️FIFA (Football Gaming) Tournament.
In the end, Mika, an Erasmus student from Germany 🇩🇪 , emerged as the Chess Champion, while Zaid, a Stipendium Hungaricum student from Jordan 🇯🇴 , claimed victory in the FIFA Tournament.
The Meet and Game event was more than just an evening of play, it was a celebration of diversity, connection, and the spirit of community that defines the University of Sopron.
