The József Cziráki Doctoral School of Wood Sciences and Technologies was established in the early 1990s and has been fully accredited since 2002. Over this period, 106 students have successfully completed their studies. The school provides a strong theoretical foundation, research methodology training, and scientific expertise. Credit Requirements:

  • Full credit recognition for the International Business BSc program.
  • For other economics-related degrees, applicants must have at least 15 credits in fields such as micro/macro-economics, finance, marketing, statistics, or management.

The program combines theory, craft skills, and practical expertise to produce restorers who can carefully preserve, repair, and revive furniture from various historical periods.

The curriculum emphasizes an in-depth understanding of furniture styles and production history, as well as ethical practices and responsible behavior required for working in this delicate field. Students will graduate with the professional competence to restore used furniture at the highest standards.

The Faculty of Wood Engineering and Creative Industries at the University of Sopron has a distinguished history, tracing its roots back to 1735 in Selmecbánya.
